First Class Walk
First Class enjoyed a wonderful and educational walk in our local area, bringing to life many of the topics we have been exploring in school.
During our outing, the pupils became “safety detectives,” keeping a close eye out for important aspects of water safety and road safety. They confidently identified safe places to cross the road, discussed the importance of staying alert near traffic, and shared what they have learned about staying safe near water.
The class also took great pride in observing their surroundings, noticing litter in the environment and discussing how we can all play a part in keeping our community clean.
As spring is now upon us, the pupils were excited to spot the many signs of the season. From budding trees to blooming flowers and birds in flight, they delighted in seeing nature come to life and made excellent connections with their classroom learning.
A highlight of the walk was visiting the John Fallon Bridge. The children were fascinated to see it up close, linking their prior learning about bridges to a real-life example in their community.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience that combined learning, observation and fun.
