Last week, everyone at Carbury School thoroughly enjoyed our School Picnic. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the success of our school garden.
The lettuce was planted by the children last spring and they took great care in nurturing the crop by watering it regularly throughout the growing season. We were delighted by how well it flourished, producing more than enough lettuce for the entire school to enjoy at the picnic. In preparation for the event, pupils spent time carefully harvesting and washing the fresh produce. The highlight of the day was a delicious sandwich filled with fresh lettuce harvested from our raised beds. Seeing the children enjoy the fruits of their labour was incredibly rewarding.
A huge thank you to the Parent Association for kindly preparing the sandwiches and helping to make the day such a memorable occasion for all.
