Senior Infants visit the Niland Gallery
Senior Infants had a wonderful trip to the Niland Gallery today after being kindly invited by Lorna Kavanagh, a senior infant parent. We were very excited to explore the gallery and see lots of interesting art.
We saw three different exhibitions during our visit. The first exhibition was a written one that showed events in nature for every day of the year. We enjoyed finding out what happens in nature on our birthdays.
The second exhibition was a video of children talking about what they think the future will look like. It was great fun listening to their ideas and sharing our own thoughts about the future.
The third exhibition showed portraits of children. We were especially excited to see that one portrait was of a child who used to go to our school, and another was of a cousin of someone in our class. This made the visit extra special and helped us feel connected to the artwork.
After looking at the exhibitions, we became artists ourselves! We cut and pasted our own portraits, and our friends helped us too. Everyone did a fantastic job and we were very proud of our work.
We had a brilliant day at the Niland Gallery and would like to say a big thank you to Lorna Kavanagh for inviting us and making our visit so enjoyable
