September and October in Fourth Class

2nd Nov 2025

Fourth Class have had a wonderful and active beginning to the school year. They really enjoyed reconnecting with their friends from Rosses Point School through the Shared Education Programme. One of the highlights was a joint visit to the Carrowmore Tombs, where pupils learned all about the megalithic tombs and our ancient history.

As part of the programme, both classes took part in a golf lesson which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the pupils. They also explored Rosses Point village by going on a Maths trail. Later that week the pupils connected with their friends on Zoom for a fun quiz during Maths Week.

Throughout Maths Week, Fourth Class engaged in a variety of hands-on activities to explore different maths concepts. They tested Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man theory by measuring their handspan, height, arm span and foot size! In another activity, the pupils practised the tallying system by counting the vehicles on the Mall.

A real highlight was working with Lego Spike, where pupils enjoyed building and programming their own Lego models.
