Walk for Water

22nd Mar 2022

All pupils in Carbury School took part in  'Walk for Water'  which is a  global campaign highlighting the need for water justice. The Green School's Committee gave a presentation to each class to raise awareness about the issue of water poverty in some countries in Africa. The presentation focused on the devastating impact water poverty has on children. We learned that some children, especially girls have to walk between 6km -30km every day to collect water for their families. As a result, these children miss their education . On March 22nd which is World Water Day,  Carbury students walked in solidarity with the children in Africa to show they care and to raise awareness in the community. Thank you to the wonderful Green School's Committee for organising the event and thank you to all the children and staff for  participating. Many thanks also to Nell at AidLink for providing us with the information and resources for organising the walk.
