Autumn Art

8th Nov 2023

In First Class we have been learning about autumn and making leaf art.  In one class we used clay to make a leaf from one of our native Irish trees.  The pupils painted the leaf in autumnal colours and then added some different colours as veins when they were dry.  We mounted them onto a piece of cardboard.
In another art classes, the pupils glued small twigs onto a piece of paper and allowed them to dry.  Then they used toilet roll holders and squeezed them to make the shape of leaves.  Then the pupils glued them around the twigs to make the shape of a tree.  Finally, the insides of the toilet roll holders were painted in autumnal colours.  All the children's art turned out really well. Have a look at some of the pictures of their art.
