Carbury gets skipping

31st May 2017

Skipping workshop helps Carbury School get even more active!

Skipping is a wonderful activity that helps a child’s agility, balance and hand eye co-ordination. Children learn about rhythm and team work through team routines. It is a great way to keep fit as it is an intense cardiovascular exercise which helps maintain good health. We invited Mark McCabe from Skip n Rope to come to Carbury to teach a skipping workshop to teach our pupils a little more about this fun form of exercise. Pupils learned a host of footwork skills, beginner to intermediate skipping tricks, long rope games and partner skipping. Once all the workshops had taken place, some pupils provided a demonstration to the rest of the school of the tricks and skills they had learned. It was a fun filled session and we look forward to seeing everyone putting their new skills into practice at lunch breaks with our brand new ropes.
