First and Second Class School Tour

21st Jun 2022

The pupils of First and Second classes spent a most enjoyable day on Monday at Castle Adventure. The weather was most favourable as we left The Mall with Peter, our driver, and headed north towards Ballyshannon. Amy and Rian welcomed us on our arrival. We were given two sets of bibs, blue for First and red for Second.

After a snack in the coffee shop we were introduced to the Petting Corner were we met some guinea pigs, ducklings, chicks and a very large cockerel named Charlie. Once we had all washed our hands we went to visit a llama and an alpaca by train. All the little blue carriages were pulled by a quad. In the playground we tried all the climbing, swinging, sliding and zipping equipment. We also met some friends from Carraroe N.S. while we were there.

Next we were invited to meet some more creatures great and small. We learned about bantam hens, blue eared pheasants and cockatiels in the aviary. In the larger barn there were rabbits, a miniature wallaby, a skunk without a smell and a cheeky pony named Rascal. Following our second and final snack First Class went to Crazy Carts while Second Class played in the Ball Pond. Our bus driver and Castle Adventure staff all complimented us on our polite and well-behaved children. It was a proud day for Carbury staff and an enjoyable day for the pupils.
