We are very fortunate here in Carbury School to have the chance to use the Izak9 Cubes from Sligo Education Centre. Izak9 is made up of twenty-seven colourful cubes which are designed to help pupils develop their problem-solving skills in Maths. These cubes are colour coded and pupils work in teams to solve a selection of online problems. Sixth Class successfully completed the 3x3 Wall, ABC 123 and a few rounds of Eliminator. Before they knew it, they had been working on their problem-solving skills for over an hour on a Friday afternoon. The pupils relished the challenge to reconstruct the original, larger cube at the end of the lesson and I'm delighted to say they mastered this just before going home.
