This month in Aistear we were at school for our role play. The children had opportunities to be the teacher, Principal, secretary as well as being pupils. In Small world we went to some cold parts of the world to discover what penguins, polar bears and other animals were up to. In the art station, the children created Winter pictures with chalk and pastels, drew and painted penguins and designed their own woolly hat using felt. Icebergs and schools were made and built in construction and playdoh areas. In the maths area the children were measuring items using non standard units such as cubes, lollipop sticks and counters.
