Sixth class help Junior Infants get Active

29th May 2019

As part of Active School Week Sixth class organise games and activities for Junior Infants

Active School Week provides physical activity opportunities for the whole school that are enjoyable and inclusive to all. We decided that our oldest pupils could help our youngest pupils get active. Sixth class organised lots of fun games and activities for Junior Infants. There were ball games, skipping games, chasing games and obstacle courses. Sixth class chose games they enjoyed themselves and adapted them to suit Junior Infants and also researched new games online to teach Junior Infants. The older pupils really showed themselves to be not only creative in their choice of activities but also competent and confident in their explanations and kind and caring with the Junior Infants. It was a very successful session and we look forward to having similar events in the future. Thank you Sixth class for your hard work – we are sure there are future teachers amongst you!
